Even if you only have one leg and throw like a girl, you will a massive improvement on our current prop/lineout thrower.

A couple of jumpers that dont weigh 16 stone would be nice. 80 minutes of lifting certain 2nd row lads is like a powerlifting session :)

Jesus lads you're starting early! League doesn't start until October

Ahem, I'm actually 15st 10lbs actually... and I've been told I float like a butterfly (and fall like bambi on ice).

Last year we started back in the 1st week of July.
I'm worried we're not back soon enough!

Quick question, is there an under-21 team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,108 ✭✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

    Quick answer, no

All joking aside, we had an U-19 side last year but most of them ended up playing with our 3rd (development) team or with are 2nd team.

Was going to say I thought you had an underage team last year, would have thought with 5 schools now playing in Tallaght having an underage team would be vital to the future growth of the club.

    I'm 28, and haven't played since I was about 12, barring one game when I was 17.

    Too old, past it?

Looking for an honest opinion here, if "yes, too old" is the answer then tough ****, Dave.

    Never too old.

We have lads that took up the game much older than you who had never player at all before , One of them was 37.

I only got back playing at 27 myself.

We'll hopefully have 3 fulll teams this year so there should be a team to suit your level, whatever that turns out to be.

As long as your happy to play in the senior teams then your old enough for it. A couple of the lads moved up from the U19's as soon as they were old enough. As the saying goes "if your good enough, your old enough" (once your older than 18 of course) :)

    Not even close mate.
A lot of our players are mid-twenties and never played until 2-3 years ago. Some are in their 30's when they started

And as mentioned about, one guy was 37 starting and he was named player of the year in his debut season.

Having learned the basic skills as a kid, you'll be fine.
