I haven't found leather in Ireland - it is available but they import it. I just bought hides from Le Prevo in the UK - I bought 'columbo sides' which is about 13 sq ft (in an irregular shape) of second grade hide, not dyed but veg tanned, suitable for a beginner to try leatherwork on, £2.43 per sq ft plus vat.
They charge £18 for postage regardless of how much you get.

You can get colours but you would have to look at the site, check out the clearance bargains. If you wanted to colour it yourself you would need to do a bit more research - they give information about dyes etc but I don't know anything about it.

A few years ago I bought leather from RJ Mooney on the Long Mile Road. Not sure if they're still there. If you want the phone no. that I have for them PM me and I'll pass it on to you.
They used to sell full hides or would cut it to specification. Can't remember what I paid for a full hide
