    Hi..!

My daughter has a school jumper and has been growing a lot this summer. Her jumper still fits her, but I am worried about a hole being formed in her elbow area of the jumper.
Would anyone have any idea of how I could prevent this..?
I'm not in the position to buy her a new jumper unfortunatly..!

Any advice would be much appreciated..! :)

You could sew a patch of old tight material on the inside of the jumper (or alternatively use fabric glue).

    Moved to Fashio & Appearance.

Maybe try asking in "Fashion & Appearance" under Rec.

Please don't tell posters to go to another forum. If they follow your advice, we may end up with duplicate threads, which means clean-up work for the mods. Instead, use the Report Post functionality to alert the mods that a thread may be in the wrong forum. This way the mods can move the thread.

Hi, I was in exactly the same position. I went to the shop I bought the uniform in and bought wool thread the same shade as the jumper. I went onto You tube and looked up darning and got a few instructional videos and made a stab at it myself. I probably should have done a trial run as my second attempt on my son's jumper worked out much neater than my first attempt on my daugthers. These bloomin' school jumpers - they're not cheap but they're definitely not quality!

    +1 on repair replies.

Also please note that if you are somewhat struggling with the cost of school clothes you should seek to apply for a 'back to school clothing allowance' all details of the scheme are available on the social welfare information website. There are income thresholds. NB application forms are available for new applicants at the main reception window of all health centres throughout the country.
