Handbrake indicator light not working, test due soon

    Hello,

I have a driving test in 20 days, and today I found that my handbrake indicator light is not lighting up whenever I'm lifting the handbrake lever. The bulb for that light has burned out. I found that it's quite a challenge to replace. I have to dismantle the whole dashboard panel of my car to replace a bulb and I just don't have the money to pay a mechanic for this job.

So on the day of the test, is it OK if the handbrake indicator is not working properly, or do I really have to fix it?

    Thanks for your replies!

I doubt you need it tbh, but, you'll be best off ringing the RSA and asking about it just incase.

In my very first car, that light never worked and I still passed with it. They don't even check it afaik! In saying that it's over 3 years since I done my test so maybe it's changed.

They do'nt check them sort of things, just make sure all your lights are working i.e indicators, brake lights because they check them.

    Goodluck in your test.

    I agree....

They can't refuse to test you for this.
If the light was staying on they could..
