    Hey all!

I am looking to apply for a category C provisional license, but I am just wondering if you need to sit a specific theory test for the category in order to get a provisional license?

I already hold a full category B license.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Hi

Yeah you must sit a cat c theory test and you can then apply for your cat c learner permit.

This is regarded as separate to your full cat B car license. Once you pass your cat c practical test, you can then get that cat added to your current license.

    Hope this helps

Just to add, you will also have to get a medical done. Its just a basic checkup with a doc. When you pass your test, you wont have to get anything done as it carries over.

You'll also need an eyetest report, it's NOT the same as one for a B license, so check that the optician knows/is allowed to test for cat C /Cat D licenses
