I'm sure you can. It has HDMI input (newer laptops, sky, dvdplayer etc) and also Digital Visual Interface (DVI) for PC

Been looking for something like this for a while. Inputs are my only problem though, no HDMI on my laptop or xbox. Suggestions?! Other than buying all new kit obviously!

I have an Xbox and laptop without HDMI outputs.

from looking at it this (like most monitors) has no speakers so unless you have an alternative method of getting sound this may not be best used as a TV replacement, including for xbox
I have an Xbox and laptop without HDMI outputs.

you can get vga cables for both that this will accepet, however as already mentioned as this has no speakers sound will be an issue

On a related query. I am wondering how do you get free delivery in the ROI or am I missing something?

do either of them take optical or the red and white audio cables, if not you may need to consider how you would connect them to the xbox

Just click on the "FREE Super Saver Delivery (4-5 business days" option at the Place Your Order page. I think over a certain amount you have that option

Well it was e127 before yesterday which still was a good deal for this monitor. It just dropped to e115 yesterday. I was able to cancel the e127 price and ordered again for the e115 :D

It also the same price at ebuyer.com but you do have to pay £11.20 shipping
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/241902

    and e157 at Pixmania

Look at the reviews @ebuyer! Really looking forward to getting this :)

Around the middle of May, unless they've changed since then. Don't understand why they would cancel if they're still quoting Eire Shipping. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm disappointed if they are :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Interesting. They started stopping orders around March - something to do with that they'd reached their limits in selling at UK VAT rates and didn't want to bother with sorting it out for customers here. There's still recent posts about them cancelling orders, but since you were successful, maybe they're slipping a few through.

I've ordered from them myself a few times. There can be very good deals and shipping is fast, so I'd like to see them fully available again.

Is it possible to connect this to my TV socket & receive tv channels? I presume it has a HDMI for my xbox 360?

It's a monitor so no and also it doesn't have any speakers

    Signal Input: HDMI, DVI-D, VGA

It was my understanding they had ceased delivery to Ireland for reasons set out by poster above. Very surprised your order was fulfilled.

    Reading that forum they said
Not sure if this is a new rule but expect to see other retailers that have no physical presence in Ireland also withdraw their Eire shipping options

I hope to God Amazon doesn't stop shipping to Ireland.

I hope to God Amazon doesn't stop shipping to Ireland.

The issue is that they have to charge the Irish rate of VAT and return vat to Irish gov not their local gov. This is an EU regulation and kicks in when you export a certain amount.

I can't see why complying with this is a problem for any retailer who is large enough to fall under it.

Amazon comply with this completely, this is why price jumps a little when you put in your Irish address, as its applying the Irish Vat rate.

    Ordered, thank you OP!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

Amazon do apply Irish VAT and I'm pretty sure that they have a warehouse in Ireland.
With UK VAT now at 20%, it makes little difference to prices now if they charge that extra 1%, not like the bigger leap from 17% and especially the recent 15% UK VAT rate.

Yeah they have a presence here - people have said so from the deliveries.

You can also see the Irish VAT increase the listed price once you login with your (Irish address) account.

Just been watching this thread, and this LG monitor, of exactly the same specs, but with a different body and stand, has suddenly dropped in price. It currently sits at €111.65 inc. VAT and shipping.

Theres a philips one on misco with built in speakers and hdmi work out €134 deliver I think:

That LG doesn't have a HDMI though. The Philips one is tempting - but I did really like the tiny bevel on the original LG . Ultimately a moot point though. Cheers for the help!

This LG is also up on misco for €110 before shipping

Think there was something funky about the misco lg vga only or summat

The day before pay-day too :'(

    Bah humbug!

EDIT: Actually, that MISCO one doesn't seem half bad..€128, with next day shipping, and it says its a hdmi 22", what's the site like reputation wise?

This Philips one seems to be overall better deal with the built in speakers (albeit a few euro more) - it has all the same inputs/specs as the OPs LG ?

    Fucking hell

Received it today. This monitor does NOT have HDMI. Not even DVI, only good 'aul VGA

Just checking the Amazon website and they're admitting their fuck up:
    Item Under Review

This product is not currently offered by Amazon.co.uk because a customer recently told us that the item he or she received was not as described.

We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you may still find this product available from other sellers on this page.
