    Hi all,

Anyone have any Oat alternatives that will work with my breakfast?

Breakfast for me is 500ml water, 100grm rolled quick oats, 40grm whey protein, shake and drink. Its the high gluten though thats starting to get at my stomach, I wont go into details :D

So a gluten free alternative if there is one?

    Hi OP,
Your breakfast sounds much like mine but I use less whey and make mine as a porridge using Millet flakes which are gluten free.
You dont need to soak over night as with oats. I just put about 3/4 tablesp of the flakes into a bowl and cover with water, hot or cold or you could use milk and stir it around cause they absorb alot of liquid. Then I pop it into the microwave for a minute or two. It doesnt look great, can go sort of firm so add more water and stir it up and it will be fine. You sort of need to figure it out for yourself. Its a really good grain, alkaline, has a similar carb content to oats but it doesnt keep you as full for as long I must admit. So if I'm training i'll eat oats, and if not, i;ll eat millet for a change.

You could also try buckwheat flakes too instead of oats. Theyre a bit tougher and more of a nuttier taste. ;)

I use whey Isolate, and never had any wind problems or bloat. I know my body very well, so I'm gonna go down the zero Gluten path to see how I get on :)

had it this morning before i went to the gym, i thought it looked a bit heavy in the bowl but sat nicely in my stomach during the workout
