When I did a scan today in Dublin city on my Philips 32PFL7404H, I could only pick up 18 Saorview digital channels.
When RTE2 HD moves to MUX 2 am I screwed?

no. 18 is all of them.

afaik. if you can receive them now then you will receive them when the 2nd mux goes live.

    Are you sure?
Some people have said here that they are getting test cards and test HD channels on the new mux. The 18 digital channels are the same as I have been getting for the last two months.

It seems they are flagged at the moment for test purposes. I have noticed that some software "sees" the new signals but ignores them as if they were encrypted.
have you tried a manual scan of CH58?

sorry yea mux 2 is currently on most sites. just do a rescan and you should find them.
    (just tried it here )

dont think there is anything being broadcast though. just comes up as future services.

    Yup! Thats them :)
Mux 2 has a variety of test cards, the "four seasons" HD loop on Ch2, News Now on ch5 and the usual radio channels.

That's a shame considering your earlier excitement, maybe RTÉNL reckon you don't deserve to have the second mux ;):D

I'm pi$$ing myself with excitement at the prospect of getting these new test cards on Mux 2.
First all that amazing HD content on RTE 2, and now this. What can they do to top this?:pac:

    But back to the question
    - maybe the mux is off-air
    - maybe the mux is transmitting at lower power, do you have an internal or external aerial?
    - RTÉ did say last year that the coverage of Mux 2 might be less than Mux 1 until after ASO due to analogue restrictions.

What is the actual frequency of Mux2? You can only manual tune using the actual frequencies.
    i.e Mux1 is 738 MHZ.

    I got it sorted.
Mux 2 is actually a lot weaker. I just put a booster on the indor aerial. The frequency is 770 MHZ. Thanks for the help.
