Chain Reaction...Poor Shipping Service

Placed an order on Thursday morning at about 1am (i know I was up late) and decided to pay a extra for the 24hr delivery (I am in Waterford).

It would have been nice to have the additional gear that I ordered, as I was planning some weekend spins..

To cut to the chase, I was expecting my parcel this morning (Friday) to be delivered by GLS courier but to my disappointment, no show...

Contacted CR and they had little or nothing to say about what happened...and I will have my parcel on Monday morning..

So I told them to cancel the order as that wasn't the service I was expecting, but they can't as they now passed the order to the courier...

Checking the tracking number this evening and it's not even up on the couriers tracking site!!!

:mad:So stuff them, they can have it back on Monday, I am not accepting the package :mad::mad:

Should have gone to Cyclesuperstore instead..

    Live and learn...

Lots of people complaining about them at the moment. Some guys on "another" bike forum were abusing them a few weeks ago.

I am waiting for new grips which I ordered yesterday evev so will be interesting to see how long I am waiting

There's a whole thread about their shipping here. If you use the search function you should be able to find plenty of other interesting threads about CRC.

Well I will be shopping elsewhere..

their 24hr shipping has been hit and miss for me tbh, i ordered some stuff a week ago and got within 2 days and other times id be waiting a week, can be very annoying if you need a part asap

To be fair I've rarely seen 24 hour shipping actually happen. Usually gets picked up in the evening on day 1, gets shipped to a local warehouse. Day 2 goes to a central warehouse to be sorted, day 3 gets delivered. GLS and DPD are the worst I've seen - fedex and dhl are better.

I guess it mostly depends on when the pick up from the sender is. Sometimes that's early in the day.

Fair enough but otherwise it is false advertising..

Same day dispatch on all ‘in stock’ orders that are received by CRC before 3pm UK Time Mon - Fri.

    Parcel Force 24hr Ireland
Next working day delivery to anywhere in Ireland by GLS/Parcel Force Courier. Used for large bulky packages and all high value orders. Signature required on delivery. Detailed online tracking information is available. Delivery Monday to Friday, no Saturday deliveries.

I've no issues, ordered inner tubes recently had them in 2 days by standard post. Orderered a helmet Thusday evening, Dispatched Friday morning, should have it Monday.

Actually, just to add you can't really blame CRC for this. ParcelForce whenever I've used it in the UK has worked very well so that's probably why CRC use it. I've had no issues with ParcelForce/GLS either.

As far as I see it, If CRC stick to their word and actually ship the package within the time frame they give It's no longer their problem.

First bad experience with CRC recently, purchased a pair of SPD-L shoes/pedals & a pump on the 15th June, delivery was sent to courier on the 17th, package arrived to me on the...............29th June !!
The excuse given was that GLS had no contact phone no, but I remember putting in a phone no & my full address was there,
so who to blame !! CRC or GLS for some kind of mis-communication ??

Did you track the package?(Even now might help!) You'll be able to see what was happening with the package during the 12days( )

Yep, tracked it (after a few days), but some major communication issue between CRC/GLS & me, only excuse given was the mis-communication of 'phone no' !!
/I got the shoes/pedals in the end, and used them in the ROK last Saturday, and they went well, ie. I took a chance wearing them as I'm just out of nappies (I mean toe-clips) :D

This is how my latest package from CRC arrived - the box was mangled and soaking wet. Contents were falling out of the box and the packaging of the tubes were all soaked. Granted it's just a tyre and spare tubes, but it shouldn't be showing up like this.

Could've been the delivery man though, but it's hard to know.

Just to add, Got my package an hour ago. Shipped Friday eve arrived this AM not bad at all!

After going a bit of searching GLS' QOS can be quite bad...

    FYI,

I ordered gear at the same time as the order above from Bike24 in Germany which I received yesterday. The order from CRC is still not even entered on their system. I am sending an email this morning I think

Placed orders on the 1st and 4th.

Order made on the 4th has been dispatched.

The order on the 1st is still processing, I paid the extra few Euro over wiggle's price because the item was in stock. Looks now like this is not the case.

I placed a order 3 weeks ago with, evanscycles , wiggle and crc all at the same time, both wiggle and crc came around 7-8 days later (noraml post) but i found the evanscyclesto be the bad one it only came, is say 14+ days! waiting.... so i think when it comes to stuff like this it can be real hit and miss!

I don't understand why you people still bother with CRC. The last 6months they have shown no sign of professionalism in any level. Personally I 've completely banned them off my shopping list. But then again.. choices, each to their own.

Made a couple orders from them, and had my stuff within 3 days, and at a cheaper price than the other suspects -that's good enough for me!

I have to agree with you on the above but there seems to be a trend with CRC?
