    Hey everyone,

I had to replace my steering rack in my Suzuki Swift a few months ago and got help from this site to find one. It took awhile but with your help I found and fitted one and now she is back on the road and in full working order!

Here are some pics to say thanks to the guys that helped in the search....enjoy!!

    Will.

Nice to see one that is still well maintained and on the road. Very rare now I would think.

Good to see you've got it sorted. I've not seen one on the road in a while. I like those, i had one years ago it was an ex rally car but the shell was a mess and there was too much safety stuff out of date etc so ended up just used for fun around some forestry and tracks at a friend's farm. Was a tough little car and went well, ahd a 1.316v engine

Thanks for posting up the pics and well done getting it back on the road. I mentioned to you before that my first car was a mk1 Swift, the pre-facelift model. A great car. I'm looking out for another but not easy to find one. The thrill is in the chase though!

Lovely car. My father had an '87 one with the long headlight. It was the 1.3 with a 5 speed box, a rapid car indeed. The first car we owned that could easily do better than 45 mpg.

Found a handbook I have for a 1986 one of these today, an old man had it from 1990, inside it in pages taped onto the book is all the journeys it took, mileage travelled, no of people carried and fuel consumption calculations each time. Sadly in 2006 it was gutted to supply an engine to FAS apprentices and the rest crushed. The reg was 515AIN, if you're from Tralee you would probably have seen it around.
