Calorie question!

    Hi guys,

I am starting my diet today and have decided to go down the route of calorie counting. I know it's very easy to obtain the calories of almost anything by typing it into google. There are a few things though which I can't find online so I hope people don't mind me trying to find out here! Any dieting tips would also be very welcome. I have put on nearly 2 stone in the last year and am hoping to lose it. I find diets very hard to stick to and I ALWAYS end up giving in to something uber-fattening then in my head my diet is over! Hopefully I can stick to it this time :)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew the calories in a medium bowl of thick vegetable soup. It's served in one of the bar/restaurants in town and it's homemade.

I was also wondering, for all the cheese lovers that are on diets (!), how do you cope?

Livestrong.com is usually good for getting calories and macro breakdown

Fellow cheese lover here, started my diet in Jan, haven't eaten proper cheese since then:eek::eek:I'm after switching to philadelphia light, not the same as the real stuff, but I have gotten used to not eating it!

I tried the Philly extra-light. It doesnt taste great :( but it's ok if eaten with some tomatoes or cucumber! Do you eat any of the low fat cheddar or any other type of low fat cheese?

oh another question! I know, obviously, alcohol should be avoided when dieting but if I was having a few drinks on a night out every now and again what would be recommended? Is it better to drink something like Coors light? or maybe a gin and slimline tonic??
