Handicap Adjustment Question?

    Hi all,

Played in an open stableford competition yesterday (not my home club). Playing off exactly 18 and shot 39 points (88 shots). Par was 73. SS is 73 and CSS was 72. I'm playing in a club comp tomorrow.

Should I cut myself and if so what should cut or should I wait until golfnet is updated.

    Thanks

Your new handicap should be 17.2 I think. I think you have to write your result in the away book at your home club and then cut yourself, golfnet probably won't be updated for a week or so.

New handicap should be 16.8 I believe. CSS playing one shot easier than par/SSS so 35pts would be the cut off. You're 4 shots better than CSS so 4 x 0.3 of a handicap cut.
You cut yourself prior to the competition tomorrow and play off 17.

Correct in that it's 1 shot easier than Par, but that makes it 37pts not 35. so new handicap is 17.4.
OP you must reduce your handicap immediately, so tomorrow you're playing off 17, enjoy.

Is it not 37 points that was CSS ie score of 72 on a par 73. I shot 2 better should I cut myself 0.6 giving me a handicap of 17.4?

I'm confused but it doesn't really matter - I'll be off 17 in any event for tomorrow.

Jul3s I think you are correct

One more question...tomorrow I will play off 17.4. If I have a bad day and get 0.1 back does this mean I readjust my handicap back to 18 again if I play on Monday?

No you can't readjust your handicap upwards yourself. You have to wait until your handicap secretary has processed it through the system.

17.4 is correct. CSS was 37 points so your cut is 0.3x2=0.6.
