Hi guys, these two courses are both at the top of my CAO list however I am completely unsure as to which to put down first.
According to the prospectus they are quite similar except fewer subject choices in European Studies and having to take a language.

What are the advantages of choosing European Studies over Arts and vice versa?

Would the job prospects be better for a student of European studies?

    hope someone can help,thanks

Hi, I'm a European Studies student going into the course's 3rd year(Erasmus). The course is suitable if you have an interest in politics of Europe, and also languages. The obligation of European Studies to do a language has proved(for me anyway) fairly useful, as linguistic fluency is a very useful skill. I have not put any thought into potential careers, but I suppose it could lead to jobs in Europe, potentially within EU institutions etc. I certainly plan to do a masters' degree on completion of my BA.

I don't regret at all my decision to do ES over arts, but maybe you should get the perspective of a student doing arts with a language.

I'm considering doing European studies when I go to university! What masters degree are you planning on doing?

I'm thinking either Political Science(which would be relevant to European Studies) or French(which I am studying as one of my subjects and am very passionate about).
