I know this is against the spirit of your thread but up until last night, the newspaper suppliers in Ireland were hell bent on not reducing their prices so resellers were not going to reduce then either.

Anyone see a reduction on newspapers / mags?

    where did you hear this?

If anything they have been publicising price reductions that were coming into effect from today. - I've seen several press releases and heard about prices coming down on at least 3 radio shows.

New VAT rate came into effect TODAY, not yesterday.

btw - noticed Subway prices lowered.

Cineworld appear to have dropped their standard prices from €11 to €10.60. The surcharge for 3D movies has also dropped by 10 cent.

I don't buy any newspaper. The only reason i copped the sun and mirror is they have big red banners saying they've reduced the price.

Not sure why these are included. What have they got to do with the tourist industry or is this a last ditch effort to save the printing industry in Ireland.

They put the price up 10c a couple of weeks ago so in reality they are pocketing the VAT reduction for themselves.

Not true, it had been €1.90 for ages.

I'd nearly expect them to add to their prices to cover the cost of processing the new lower V.A.T. rate. Bloody scavangers.

Ticketmaster are only an AGENT. the only part they keep is the booking fee which has a 21% rate of vat included and has not been reduced. The venues / concert promoters are the people to complain to as it has zilch to do with ticketmaster.

I can guarantee you most of the places who dropped the prices will hike them back up again very quickly, most places will see it as a marketing ploy

This was not a thread about a specific Consumer Issue. Given that it would be best if it reached a wide audience, I decided on After Hours.

If the AH mods feel there is a better forum, then they are free to move.

Ray's Pizzas in Temple Bar, next to the Central Bank have dropped their prices. They have a big sign in their front window saying "Thanks Enda" :)
