Hi got a new bike computer yesterday the Sigma BC1009 STS wireless. I spent about 1/2 hour setting all up but could not get computer to sync with sensor. I checked all the distances i.e. max 90cm between sensor and computer (mine = 60cm) max 12mm between magnet and sensor (mine = 6mm) but still nothing very frustrating. Has anyone any experience with these maybe there is a simple button I need to press or something??

I have a sigma. Can't remember having any trouble setting it up. I had to select English and input the wheels size but, other than that, I think the sync was automatic. Silly Q but you do have the magnet lined up with the sensor, right?

I think I have it lined up right but maybe I dont. I found it difficult to follow the instructions. I have magnet on spoke with magnet part facing sensor and I have sensor part facing into wheel leaving battery section part facing away from bike. One part of instructions that puzzled me was to do with pressing reset button on sensor for 5 seconds and light flashing green / red (on instruction states bike 1 = green, bike 2 = red) when i push button it seems to stay green for approx 5 sec and then flashes red twice and if I push it again it stays red for 5 sec and flashes red twice again. At no point has any light stayed on for me maybe this is the problem?

I think that you may have this facing the wrong way. The Sigma logo should be facing away from the wheel so if you have this done correctly and if you have magnet correctly aligned you should see a light flash on the sensor every time the magnet passes it.

I have the model with cadence (the BC1609). Even though the cadence works just fine, the computer loses the sync with the speed sensor most of the time. I googled a bit and found this to be a common issue with Sigma computers. I sent mine back to bike24, they refused to cover it (awful service by the way, I'll never use them again to be sure). One suggestion on the internet was that it uses battery quite quickly, and that you should try with fresh batteries in both the sensor and the computer. This didn't work for me. Another thing to check is that when the sensor detects the magnet you can actually hear a weak "click" sound coming from the sensor. Check this to see if the magnet is set up correctly. What you have with the led is the same thing I have with mine. Also, check holding the computer right next to the sensor (in its base obviously), to exclude any distance issue and/or interference. Finally, if nothing works, exchange your product, assuming you have more luck than I did, as it seems some units have issues with the speed sensor.
