Bewley's Rich Roast Instant is the only coffee I like and I have learned that it has been discontinued! :(

Has anyone on the east coast from Dublin to Rosslare recently seen any in a supermarket (or any shop)? I will buy a lot! Then I will have to wean myself over to another kind of instant.

    Photo location: here.

Thanks in advance if anyone has noticed any around.

A quick Google indicates you can buy it online, the label looks different but name is the same...

    Thank you, mandarin.

I found that site as well, but it was very expensive (before VAT & postage!), but I also saw a few other sites (including the Bewleys website) which said "discontinued" on the day I looked. Today it still doesn't show any instants.

Now I think it's just been "re-branded" with a new label, new jar, and a brand new price, and that is why it appeared to have been "discontinued."

I use Tesco online, and while they've not had it for the last 5-6 or more years online or in the stores, suddenly they have it. But, just like you said, the label looks different yet name is the same. Now a 100g jar costs €4.49! Last time I purchased from Dunnes it was €3.75, and in the Super Valu in Clane it was €2.99! I bought 14 (!) jars, and that held me for quite a while. I'm on my last jar, so I went hunting.

I'll give this pricey new version a try, but even if it is similar and/or palatable, at the same time, I will start adding a small bit of a cheaper, more readily-available instant and wean myself off the Bewley's. Very silly of them to raise the price that much "in these times." Losing a long-time customer. I'm sure they will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth (not). ha.
