Hey guys, is it wednesday or thursday next week when the first offers will be made,also will this be online as well as through the post,getting close now....

i can confirm that it will be THURSDAY next week. i was told wednesday (my birthday) a number of times, but then i read online thursday (posted wednesday) so i rang the CAO for clairfication (gonna b going out celebrating and wanted to choose the right night for it).

they told me they are POSTING the things Wednesday, they will ARRIVE Thursday in the post and they will also be available from 12 online (not sure if 12 meant midnight or mid-day, i forgot to ask, think i will check at midnight and if not wait on the posty)

Some people got letters from the college already telling them they had a place. But nothings official until u get the CAO letter.

I am actually NOT excited today. Today is the worst day. I wish today was tomoro already

It will also depend on how you applied deferred and mature offers tomorrow but FETAC in a week or so I think. And obviously if you used your LC results then nothing until August. Also last year I got an sms saying i had an offer and to check online so you dont have to wait for the post. :eek: Anyone else here going to NUIG?

argh so you are saying i could get three different offers? i assumed i applied as a mature student as i am one, but i supplied them with my lc points and fetac award information.

actually i have a question then. i got letters a couple months ago from two of the places i applied saying i was being offered a place on foot of my lc points and therefore don't have to appear for interview, does that mean i won't get the CAO letter for them until August? i couldn't bear that

I think thats quite possible that you will have to wait but you could still get an offer from mature code or fetac but then again if you have an offer maybe not. Did they ask you to accept these offers provisionally?

Last year I only applied with fetac code so got nothing when the mature offers came out got my 2nd choice in fetac round and again as i didnt apply with LC got nothing with that, 2 of my friends applied with FETAC and LC and got nothing in the first 2 then did get offers in Aug. Im thinking if your scores in the mature are high you will get an offer there no matter what and if it isnt the college you want and you were told of the other offers then you decline in the mature round and wait for those offers in Aug.

one of them had me send back a provisional acceptance slip the other didn't

Dang, I'm getting worried now...I keep hearing of people getting letters from the universities telling them they were accepted, but I got nothing yet.
So scared that it's a rejection
Hope I get results tomorrow as I have to move my stuff from abroad! Good luck everyone!

Took a look again at the CAO book and if your offered on mature code you can accept this and then you can subsequently accept offers on your fetac and LC results but each time you will loose the first one accepted but that means if you get offered somewhere your not sure of but don't want to risk not getting one you accept it and then if another one you want comes up in later rounds you accept that and the other one is then voided.

Do you want to take the ones you have already been offered or are you hoping for better ones? Sorry if I've confused matters for you but I would say if you get an offer your not sure of tomorrow maybe accept it anyway as you can accept the later ones as well and if you dont get others you have a place. no letter does not mean rejection. a couple the places i had mature interviews with specifically told me they would not be notifying people wether they got a place or not, that the first they would know would be the CAO offers.

bricking it myself now tho. tomorrow hurry up

cheers i have ones further up the list than the ones already offered. i guess my problem with accepting and waiting is my further down ones require moving, as in finding accommodation and putting deposit down. which if i then got one higher up (which would mean i could stay here) and i accepted that i would lose my deposit, which i cannot afford

Does anyone know if you accept a place tomorrow through the Cao but then decide to do a plc first ( I'm worried I won't be able for a degree course!) can you just tell the college they your not taking the offer in a few weeks time ? I'm terrified I'll make the wrong decision!

If you get offered a college course I'd take it over a PLC any day in normal circumstances.

I'm fairly relaxed, the hard work is done on all our parts, it's just the waiting now. Out of our hands, just sit back and try relax. I've just been listening to music and keeping myself occupied.

Just looking at a form I got from CAO a while with my change of mind documents, Some offers will be posted out today to mature students and will arrive by post tomorrow. Offers appear on the website at 10am Thursday 7th July.
I'd presume anyone that recieved a letter from the colleges already stating that they'll be offered a place on their chosen course will recieved an offer tomorrow.
Some college's require people to go for various assessments, I know NUIM are doing a Maths Assessment course starting next week and depending on how people do in that will decide if their offered a place. So with that I'd presume if you've already been told you'll be offered a place, you'll get your offer tomorrow but if you have to do one of the assessment courses then you won't receive an offer till August.
Also if you get one of your options your aswell to accept, if a course in a higher preference choice comes up you can accept that and the other is voided. As long as your offers are moving up your preference choices on your cao form you can keep accepting but you can't turn down your 1st choice for a lower choice as once you recieve a course higher up your choices, all options below that preference are automatically voided.

I read that as well, but if you go to My Application, it has the round dates at the top. If you click More Information you will then get the text that I pasted above. I do hope that what's in the CAO handbook is correct, maybe they used bad phrasing? I hope I am wrong with my earlier post XD
