Here is a copy of an Email from Saorview many of us installers got today. There is three recognised bodies that installers can register with hopefully now it will sort out the Installers from the Chancers.

To whom it may concern



We are pleased to inform you that SAORVIEW has been in discussions with a number of industry bodies who can provide a self-regulation facility to the installation trade.



These bodies are recognised by SAORVIEW as having a competence in this area and as having a comprehensive process for the vetting and registration of members. These bodies will be referenced on the SAORVIEW website. Therefore you will have an opportunity to have your business listed under a SAORVIEW recognised body.



You are aware from our recent communications that regrettably SAORVIEW have not been in a position to list installers given the lack of industry regulation.



In addition to our existing communications that consumers should seek recommendations from local retailers, neighbours and friends, SAORVIEW will also advise consumers who are seeking an installer, to consider the services of members of one of these bodies.



Our principal objective is to inform the consumer while supporting the installation trade.



We will highlight the above in all of our future communications.

TV aerial / receiver installers will play a key role in ensuring the successful roll out of the SAORVIEW service in the next 18 months.

The aerial installation trade in Ireland is unregulated at present. SAORVIEW is not in a position to establish the competence of any aerial installer. However, SAORVIEW is working with a number of trade bodies with competence in this area who undertake vetting and registration of their members. Already there are guys using the Saorview logo on Web pages Flyers and Adds that are not and wont ever be registered.

not really ones called 'communications house' and is in Watford UK

the other is called 'isaa house' and is in Dublin Ireland

Could even be above a Greengrocer's shop (likely not).

It's normal enough. Very common for Professional Bodies, Publishers, HQs etc to have "<insert name of business> House" in the address. Helps postmen and visitors.

The proposed training centre (not yet agreed and NOT the Current Dublin Address) is "grand" as it's on 8 acres and has "House" in name before present owner took over. There isn't likely an announcement on that for next 3 or 4 weeks.

I'm not saying where proposed training centre is as it's not agreed yet.

I didn't suggest anything about the Dublin address, other than to suggest "ISAA House" is a normal kind of name.

Also unless you are RTE or UCD or the President you don't have 8 acres in the middle of Dublin
