Sound quality using red eye

I will briefly describe my set up.
Sky HD box in main room. Sky + box in 2nd room (no sub so just FTA). I have a connection between the main room and the 2nd room which allows me to watch the HD box and change channel using a red eye.
My question relates to the sound, I get perfect sound when watching the Sky + box, but need to turn up the volume (alot) when watching from the HD box. Is this normal ??

    Thanks in advance !!!

Check the sound settings in the sky set up menu.

I have 2 HD boxes - a multiroom and a main one - both made by different manufacturers. The older of the two is in the multiroom and I find I have to set the volume high on this model when watching TV.

With the main HD box in my living room I had a similar problem. I solved this by getting a surround sound/home cinema system.

But sound is fine in main room, so don't think its the settings on the sky box.

The HD boxes output sound at a lower level than other boxes, theres no way of adjusting the output unfortunately, this option wasn't included in the new HD type menu's when they were rolled out.

Have the same problem I wish sky would release a software update to allow this to be altered as it is very annoying..

I had a magic on the TV in the kitchen and the sound volume was always very poor, I've since changed the magic eye to a TV in the bedroom and the sound is perfect. I'm sure it's the TV I have in the kitchen that has the volume problem not the magic eye or the sky box.

Don't think its the TV as the sound while watching the attached/local sky+ box is perfect.

Its not a problem with the tv I come across this almost everyday since the amstrad and Samsung Sky hd boxes were introduced
