Getting married in December but unsure yet about honeymoon, our budget is not very high, but we would like some sunshine on our honeymoon. Would anyone have suggestions for this time of the year ? There be anywhere in Europe where we would get sunshine that time of the year or should we be looking towards Mexico etc but then the cost factor creeps in!

We were married in a December and with 2 kids didnt want to be far orlongsowetook 5 days in Fuerteventura. We love it there, my sister in law owns a villa so we stayed there, depending on your dates though you can get flights for a couple of hundred and we have at times stayed in hotels that cost as little as 150 a week.

There would be plenty of Med places that would be reasonably hot that time of year, is it the Canaries have year round sunshine? Or alternatively somewhere like South Africa. You will spend a lot more for the flight but once you're there everything is ridiculously cheap so it will probably even out and it would be in the middle of their summer too! But you really wouldn't need to... just use google to find average temps in Europe and you'll find some amazing offers for that time of the year.

Budget of max €3000 in total so not sure if it would stretch to Thailand

That would be fine if you get the flights in advance.

Ah I suggested Canaries etc cos I had the impression your budget was much much lower. So no, I doubt you'd get the same experience. We just had two weeks in Mexico 5* all inc for £2,800 for our honeymoon. It was amazing, however, for that money and that distance, if you're going all inc it doesn't matter what country you go to as you will probably stay within the bounds of the resort for the most part.

You could get something amazing within Europe for that budget. The other half's Dad is going to stay in a lighthouse in Portugal for two weeks with their own pool and veranda and everything for less than £2,000, the pictures are super stunning. Are you set on the all inc though? For 3,000 you can afford places like Cuba & Dominican Republic.

we done Hong kong (4days) and Bali 7 days for under €3,000 , the best holiday I have ever had ,
if given the opportunity I'd live in Bali in heartbeat ,I just fell in love with this place

if you can't do something like the above
then , your best bet is Lanzarote , one of my fav destinations in any time of year , cannot go wrong

I think that Goa is in full swing that time of the year. Depending on what you want to do, and the type of accommodation you require it is a beautiful place.

Bali be nice at that time of year, asia in general that time of year is good for sunshine. COuld also try florida(risky as wether not guaranteed then) Hawaii? Dubai? 3k is a decent budget you should have no trouble.

Alternatively you could try canaries for easier option.

    Hi,

I have a question for Heineken Helen. Could you give me more details on your honeymoon in Mexico for 2 weeks for 2,800. Myself and my fiance are thinking of Mexico but budget is max 3,000 so would like to know where you got such a good deal. Seems amazing for 2 weeks in Mexico. We'd appreciate any details you can share, name of travel agent etc.
