Appeal Query

I was disallowed JA last August as stated in a later I was not home on several occassions when they called out. I appealed the decision but never actually heard from them. I applied again for JA and got it after several months of waiting.

When I asked them about the appeal they said it that they never received an appeal and that I wouldn't be getting the back pay and that the appeal wouldn't count now as it wasn't sent in on time........

Today I received a letter from the appeals office saying that they had received my appeal and when the SWO acknowledge the notice the papers will be sent for consideration by an appeals officer.

To be honest I am stunned to have even gotten this letter as I was told that the appeal didn't go through in the first place.

Has anyone any experience of the appeals procedure?? It says I might have to go in for a hearing???

Be prepared for a potential long waiting time.
