Soapstone??

    Hi everyone,

    We have finally broken ground and officially began our self-build!

    So now I am busy sourcing materials and looking into the interior design. The proposed end date is February 2012 and I suspect things are going to fly up between now and the anticipated bad weather, this Winter... So I feel that I need to be fairly prepared with regard to the interior.

    My question is whether anyone here can point me in the right direction to find a supplier of Soapstone kitchen worktops??

    Also, I was hoping someone might be able to give me a very rough idea as to how much a Limestone or Slate or Soapstone countertop might cost. The kitchen will be an asymetrical U-Shape, approx. 3m x 3m x 2.5m.

    Sorry to slightly deviate. Is this a self build, or done be a contractor?

    We have a contractor. Apologies for asking for advice re: pricing, as I know there is a sticky for that already and I am aware of the forum charter. I was moreso hoping to open a dialogue between others who might have purchased soapstone countertops in the past and had something to say about them, than just get costings and links. Cheers though, PM's greatly appreciated.
