Travel to Scotland/passport required?

Hi, making a return trip from shannon to edinburgh, ordered new passport but have been informed it wont be ready before i depart. flying with aer arann but bookings with aer lingus. am i ok use my drivers license for booking in and will i be let through customs in scotland with license and on my return will i be let back…

Hi,
