NCHD Living Out Allowance

The "Living Out Allowance", to my amazement, is still in the NCHD 2011 contract, although it doesn't state what this amounts to.

Does this still exist in practice?
How much is it (for interns, if that matters)? I've heard estimates of €60 per week.
    Is it taxable?
And what exactly is it? There's a debate amongst us new interns as to whether it applies in your base hospital or only if you're doing a stint in a peripheral hospital miles away.

To be honest thought this was gone if in your contract lucky you

could be €60/week alright - check with IMO 01-6767273

If payable it is for ANY job and not just rotation away from base hospital

    Hey!!!

I remember asking this question. Its included in your basic wages as they are unable to provide you with accomodation! So it automatically gets put into your wages. :p

Technically you are incorrect, it forms part of the salary for SPR only

For all other doctors it is an extra payment on your wage slip BUT not all hospitals always paid this you need to check

The SPR scale had the payment incorporated which meant a payrise at the time
