Mechanic in Cork for a Quick Fix

    Hi,

My splash guard came loose the other day on the motorway and is basically mangled and hanging down now. It will be next week before it's going into the garage (to co-incide with another job I'm getting done) but until then I want to get the car mobile as I will have to give back the car I'm currently using and it's also costing me a fortune on my commute.

What I'm basically looking for is someone to do a quick fix to pin the guard securely back up in place to get me through the next few days for the lowest possible price as I have the new parts on order (wallets already crying). Preferably in and around the city as Friday is the only time I will have to get it into them:D

Any suggestions as my local guy is out of action for a few days?

You could try Teddy Cronin in Mahon. Although I'm sure most places should be able to sort you out.

Is he the guy that specializes in Ford?

Could be handy, nice and close to the office too:D

I could do! Wont be around during the day until Friday though. Mondeo's had €150 of juice so far this week so the quicker it goes back the better:eek:

He specialises in everything!, especially crash repairs. Map link here. Paint doc is only down the road as well though.

No idea TBH. He's in Mahon for a long time though AFAIK. It's a bit odd really: you turn a corner in Mahon scobe central and you're suddenly in a relatively genteel 1960's cottage housing estate, and there's a busy garage / cars sales place down the end of the road!

I think it's Tim Cronin I'm thinking of, 'twould have been 1999/2000 ish he moved from that yard in town, can't for the life of me remember where it was, think it was off Douglas Street somewhere. My memory is desperate at times.

Was he possibly the guy Cronin of Evergreen Street, near the top of Barrack Street. Along Greenmount Avenue.

I remember him....I used to deliver to him when I worked as a driver for a fab motor factor on the Southside.

Tim Cronin is now on 98th (Ninety eight) Street..

That's the small lane next to Lennox's chipper on Bandon Rd. (Between Bandon Road, and Noonan's Rd).

His name was Cronin too just cant think of his first name. Sound guy actually but I think he closed shop when he moved away from the area as he used to live nearby.

Indeed, the Tim I was thinking of is indeed now down the side of Lennox's :)

I used to work in Southern Motor Factors years and years ago.

He might sort you out EPM, I reckon he's looney busy though tbh.

Tbh I'd nearly cut the bloody thing off at this stage to get it moving. Dealer rang there about taking it in and said if I wanted to leave it off completely it makes no odds.

Might just get the saw out for now but I'd prefer it replaced though.
