    hey all,

We're getting married next year:D, during christmas:D, and because the time of the year have "just" began looking at things, met one photographer (so far) and was very happy with his manner and way of doing things, problem is he was 1700 bucks............included pre-meeting, coverage till first dance, slideshow of photos that night, dvd images and 50 7X5 prints, plus his dinner and an engagement shoot, but no album..(which is perfect)
Lovely and very recommended photographer, but the cost!! other are saying around 900 should be enough, but not sure what they are including......
He emailed today saying someone else is looking for the say date..ahhhhh

we're in the midlands area, need a photographer for dec 2012, all advise here is greatly appreciated.......:o

There is no average price really, each photographer is completely different, has different overheads etc etc. I know some guys charging over 2k I think are worth every cent and others charging that might not be. If you know what you want and the price you want to pay then I would advise to look within your budget.

Your other option would be to reply to the photographer saying you were happy with him but you could only afford x amount, God loves a tryer!

I used Darren Purcell (www.visionary.ie) and was very happy with him. I notice on his website the prices all include an album but I'm sure he does packages for photos on disc only.

Hi thumper10, I'm getting quotes between 700 -950 for CD only and heard of a recommendation today for 500 for cd only. Have to check out the photographer yet. PM if you want the details I have so far!

I would strongly agree with this... been there done that! If you have someone you want, think about what you can honestly afford and are willing to pay and be really honest with yourself and then talk to him. If you can't afford his prices, shop around :o

Hi Thumper - im in the same boat im looking for a photographer at the mo - that price sounds very expensive without an album. A friend of mine had a brilliant photographer last september - she's from Nenagh, co. Tipp - a lot more reasonable than the price you mentioned too. PM me if u want her name:)

It's your wedding, you're only going to get one chance at this and the pictures will last your lifetime. It's a worthwhile investment to pay the extra money to get a photographer who knows his work is good.
