Have you ever had someone speak to you and not one word is understood?Usually a word or two will give you an idea of the conversation topic.......

But not a one?I had someone speak to me today(in English)and I hadnt a fook what they were on about.I asked twice for a repeat before it became too awkward and I shuffled off with an obligatory embarrassed laugh and shake of the head.

I looked round 2 seconds later and he was slightly agog, mind obviously whirring....

    I hate it:mad:

If someone asks me to repeat myself,I do so slightly louder and slower.

If someone asks me to repeat myself I refuse, then slap them in the face. Dunno why.

Ah yes. Cork and Limerick too. They seem to generally have a problem with language down there.

Yeah, in Scotland it happened a lot. The strong Glaswegian accents can be very hard to hear. Had a few occasions where I had to ask the person to repeat what they were saying three or four times, and boy do people hate when you ask them to repeat themselves.

Bu thn smts I mmbl too, so I cn cmplain.

Happens alot to me, but the other way around.

No one ever has the slightest idea what I'm talking about. :(

It's worse when someone's asking you a question and you automatically act like you heard them perfectly to avoid any awkwardness, totally agreeing with what they said.

Can't say I didn't enjoy the flight to Saigon though, even if the work was tough.

One of my best friends is from Wesht Cark. Her father has a very distinct accent. Pretty much had to train my ear to understand what he says. But it's easy to understand now.

Like the person who tells you a story or of an incident in their life but forgets to include the beginning , with the first 5 minutes of importants details, so your left in this no mans land of ' WTF are you on about ' ??

    ie......

Him - ( starts to speak ) '' So I told her that I would not go there with him blah blah blah .....''

Me - '' wait ...wait... wait ....who's her ...who's him ? and go where '
