Pool workout suggestions

    Hi all,
I've done a fair bit of reading on the fitness boards (first time) tonight and I've a question that doesn't seem to have come up since a lot of people here seem to be into weights. I figure I'll ask anyways!

I'm very overweight and on week two of new fitness/food regime, working slowly up through walking from 15 minutes up to about 25 minutes now twice a week. However I have a pretty severe hip problem and I don't think I can push the walking much further without damaging it. The hip issue is exacerbated by the weight and I had been advised by the doc to lose weight and exercise as it will help.

Having spoken to her again since I started walking/eating better, I've been advised to join a pool and work in the water to avoid the excess weight causing undue strain. I'm just struggling to find things to do in the water. I can swim but endless lengths bores me and if I could put together a half hour workout to build on including something other than lengths (which I will do too :)) it would help with motivation.

I'm hoping to join Liffey Valley Fitness (review welcome too) and they do have two aqua classes but attending them regularly will be a problem due to the times so I'd like to have my own workout organised for when I can't get to a class. Any advice appreciated. Tyvm
