So I'm half thinking of starting a Pole Fitness course for a few weeks, but just wondering if I'd be 'able' for it. Do you have to have a level of fitness already, would extra weight go against you? I'm apprehensive about going if I wouldn't be able for it!

    hi,

you'll get more ( some ) replies in the general health & fitness section, this is in the fitness logs where I imagine most people just read their own

I did a course of pole fitness lessons a few months ago and I dont think that carrying extra weight would necessarily affect your ability to do it, but your overall flexibilty/fitness might. I felt that I needed to be fitter to do it properly than I was at the time. Despite saying that, for losing weight or a good exercise workout i wouldnt rate it highly.

Dont get me wrong, its great craic and in a funny way a real confidence boost because you learn and perform these somewhat complicated routines, but I spent more time standing around waiting for others to do their routine, than doing my own.

    I agree with Shera.

I did a course, and after the first lesson i was very sore and bruised, and im a fit person. However you do spend an awful lot of time waiting for other people to finish on the pole first. I noticed that as the weeks went on, less people turned up, and we got more time on the pole, which was great.

    It is great fun though.
