Played a bit over the last couple of seasons and would say the 2 best courses in close proximity to each other are woodenbridge and macreddin.

Work those in to a 2 day break and it will be unforgettable.

Make sure ye get a buggy for macreddin!!!

Golfing trips.......i used to go on those....then i got married:(
from what i remember of them(not much after 10pm ish!!)was a good 5 days in waterford/wexford.played twice in Rosslare and the 3 courses around Dungarvan.
Bargains wise,i remember there was a great deal on the 3 courses in Dungarvan and the Dungarvan park hotel was a nice base, super food and very reasonable.
To be honest any time a chap can get away with his mates for a few days anywhere is good imo:)....
    im jealous:(:(

    +1 for Headfort

Boardsdeal today is for the headfort arms too - 69 for 2 people B&B - play old course one day and new course the next!

Mount Wolseley in Tullow is a beautiful course. Midweek green fee only €25 too. Plus it has a 4 star hotel attached. pricey for rooms i think.

+1 for Headfort. The old course is good but personally I'd play the new course twice. When we were there, they had a beach party in the niught club attached to the hotel. We decided to go dressed as 3 golfers! Great crack.

Two fine courses alright. Was in arklow last week on a break with the girlfriend and i managed to get away for a game in woodenbridge. Very scenic course and in great condition. Greens were just perfect. Its not the longest but well worth playing.

Had a nightmare in macreddin a couple of months ago. Couldnt hit a fairway to save my life. Found it very penal. I would hit balls off the first par 3 all day. Its a course you really should try play if you havent already.

There both not far from arklow. I have notions of using Arklow as a base sometime again.
There's arklow golf course itself which i think got a decent review in hooked and if you want to splash the cash there's a rolls royce of a course in the European club 5 mins up the road. Played there during the 35 euro offer in the spring. Pure Class

Was great value and great golf mount juliet and faithlegg are 2 seriously good courses top notch waterford castle not as nice but still worth a game!

sorry just seen u were from kilkenny and prob know about that deal :) Around lenister i would also recommend macreddin (amazing course but very tough) you will need a buggy!Tulfarris beside blessington is a great course and you can get a green fee for 20e or so. Druids heath in newtownmount kennedy is a nice course but its long and tough! If u were willing to travel to monaghan check out concra wood absolute cracking course possibly one of the nicest iv played in the last 2 years !:D
