opinions on the price of this volvo s40...

    Hi,

    I have been looking out for a volvo s40 for a while and saw this today,the mileage is quite high,would i be mad to even consider this? Just looking for some opinions, thanks:)

    Servicing and general condition of the car are far more important than mileage to me anyway!

    If it's been abused, run a mile. If the car was genuinely looked after, then there is no reason why you shouldn't get another 160,000 km out of it.

    Irish people have this (IMO) stupid fear that anything with 100,000 miles (160k km) will automatically explode - the said people who think this are the same idiots who only service cars "to get it through the NCT" rather than when it actually needs to be serviced as per the manufacturers recommendations!

    The one thing to watch for with that shape S40 is the ESP and ABS module - it fails quite often in them and is very expensive (> 1k) to fix.

    Note the towbar , some say that indicates a car best avoided.

    Did not see that well spotted,owner said he is going to auz hence the cheap price!
