11 Rovers players :/ Basically our first 11.

If you take out the players with european matches....Its basically a derry team.

Really don't want our players in this, Heary probably wont play at least. If Rovers and Pats progress, I could see more of our players being put into this, namely Flood, Fagan and maybe O'Brien if he is still with us. If Forrester wasn't so young I would probably say him aswell.

Maybe Conan Byrne aswell at Shels? Only seen him once this season but he played really well.

(This is assuming Bohs don't progress, which is likely)

I like many other Reds would have David Cassidy ahead of him as a better player so far this season.

Nah, he's brutal. Like the rest of our players. ;)

I miss casso. Was our player of the year in our promotion season and a lot of Dundalk fans were very angry that we didn't re-sign him when we went up

Casso ran the show against an almost full strength Sligo team last night as well. Total mickey mouse event though so hopefully no Shels players will be noticed/called up.

Kenny Cunningham will be Richardson's assistant for the Dublin Super Cup. I think the tournament is a good idea. It was never going to find a time that would be perfect with LoI clubs involved in Europe but in fairness, for players not playing in Europe, it's a great chance to play against some of the top clubs from some of the higher ranked league's across Europe. Hopefully the LoI side under the format can pick up at least 3 points.

So yeah good luck with that.

Seriuosly doubt that tbh. Its the 1st division ffs Gamble only in the squad cos he hasnt played in it yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Ebbs

Id say the Bohs players will be ruled out too.

Just the Derry squad id imagine. Who ever it is...will get destroyed. Look better if we pulled out at this stage.

2 of them at least had the chance to be in it for your very club.

And now they are in the 1st division for a reason, Hughes isnt/wasnt good enough for PL and Paisley altho i liked him was injured far too often.

Not Casso, he'd be gone to Pats by now if it wasn't for his job!

I'd say Celtic and Man City are delighted that the Sligo players are not involved. They would have gotten a real football lesson

Given the amount of teams still in Europe, the select team is going to get a leathering.

Would expect any Bohs player that wants to play will be let, we're in no position to piss off the FAI or our players.

If it inadvertently means Derry City play, dunno not that bad. They get to train for a week beforehand. Actually think it will be less than 7 goals combined for the 2 games.

Players get 1,000 euro for being part of the squad and also a donation to the PFAI according to whatever news paper does that LoI pull out.

Not too shabby. Might actually be able to collect there wage too, which will be a shock to some.

Donation only, noone getting paid or insured. Unless you know different ?

There was "talks " but PFAI allowing themselves to be walked over. Dont know how it ended hope to **** your right tho.

I didnt read the article in full, just seen the page open when I was on my lunch today and skimmed it.

So they are paying 1000 euro per player to the PFAI in the players name? Thats bizzare. Doubt its 1000 euro in total to the PFAI as thats a laughable donation considering the other teams are apparently getting a mil.

Noticed how they gave McGuiness credit for it too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,388 ✭✭✭d22ontour

No-one getting paid or insured.. I hope teh fook that isn't right or legal just to keep the FAIlures poor attempt at making a success of their no-name clubs making a tournament in a country full of bar stool supporters a success.

Rico wants Rovers Pats and Sligo to release some players.

In Showgrounds tonight Pats fans let him know what they thought of that suggestion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,142 ✭✭✭Ebbs

Too lazy to reshuffle it at this time but it says a donation to the PFAI "but also" a 1000 euro match fee per player.

Edit: Made a balls of that scan, but it says "believed to be 1000 per player"

Bet the FAI want you to release Sheppard :D

Mahon being Mahon will allow any player he doesnt see fitting into his 16 man squad the option of playing, but only after teh away leg.

A grand for a days work and to follow his english obession, id say shppard wants sheppard to be released. His face being plastered all over the competition doesnt help either.

Obviously I hope not one rovers player wants to go but in reality with such a pay check and a chance to show off im sure a few players may enquire.

Should the thread be called the Dublin Super Duper Cup?

Assume any Rovers/Pats/Sligo player still in Ireland now is fair game?

Anyone who didnt travel with their team?

    Hopefully not.

Hopefully the crap ticket sales will continue and bin this farrago once and for all.

Roversssss have offered players according to Rico.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭doncarlos

Rico is an absolute joke of a manager.

Should have just picked a squad at the start and stuck with it. Get a couple of training sessions in and get lads used to playing with each other. Only a few days to the game now and he still hasn't finalised his squad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,252 ✭✭✭✭stovelid

Does anybody in the know have any idea if the rumours about the LOI select dressing room and the money being offered is true?
