Water stain under window

I am hoping someone can give me a little advice.

One of my windows in my main bedroom has a water stain under the window board. Both of the windows are Tilt and Turn and it only appears to be happening to one of them.

I can't see any obvious signs of where the water is coming from and can only hazard a guess that it is not either sealed right or there is a fault with the window itself. I have had a window rep out to have a look at another problem and I showed him the window. He recokned that I would have to replace it but I want to be sure that there are no other options before I spend €1000 replacing both windows.

    Found the problem.

I went to take the photos as suggested and when i got out under the window I could see what I reckon is my problem. The sill is poor quality with a poorly defined slit which wouldn't be too bad but on top of that there was a gap under the sill where it meets the wall as well. The window is facing the prevaling windos and has very little shelter and wind etc was all contibuting to the problem.

sounds like you need to do a lot of 'silicone'ing ;)
