I have changed 4 bulbs in a month . I'm using Philips 380 21/5w bulbs. When the bulb goes it looks like it's smoked.

Are the bulbs too strong - these are the recommended bulbs.

    Any ideas?

You probably have a bad earth (or chassis ground) chances are one of the ground points has corroded.

I agree with pred racer, sounds like they're being over volted.

Is it going on one side or both sides?

    over volted
    That#s a new one!!!

If the bulbs are blowing because of over-voltage, then you have a problem with your alternator/regulator.

Check out for loose housing, filament bulbs do not take vibration well.

A dodgy EARTH, in itself, should not cause bulbs to blow.

Both sides have blown. I got a 3 month warranty with it so I'm sure the dealer will sort it when I bring it back. This would be covered wouldn't it?
