Have a 2007 Ford S Max 1.8TD. Over the last week the fan keeps on coming on after I switch off engine. Can go on for about 3-4 mins. Have heard this on other cars and never thought much of it. Is this something that needs to be looked at.
    Thanks

Warm weather, warm engine, fan on. Nothing to worry about.

Yep, the air is cooling your engine while you drive, when you stop the fan needs to draw air through the rad to replace the air until the engine cools down.

There was a fault with my mothers Peugeot if you turned off the engine with the fan running it wouldn't stop! It would keep going and drain the battery. An ecu flash solved it though.

Just in case anyone else comes across this issue make sure you have coolant in the car. Turns out I had a coolant leak and this was the issue
