I'm looking for a few games and I only have a Laser Card. Anyone know of a games website that accepts laser other than cdwow and crappy websites that dont have a good variety of games.

Get yourself a 3V Card. You get a card, go to a shop that accepts them and you get a voucher with a code which is basically a credit card number.

Nope. They're as bad as play.com in my opinion. Had to wait two weeks after release day to get a game I'd pre-ordered. Never used them since and I don't intend to ever again.

Ulster Bank and Permanent TSB do current accounts with Visa Debit instead of Laser.

If you don't want to get a credit card, it might be your best option.

I also believe Laser is being phased out this year [or next] by the Irish banks in favour of debit cards.

It will once BOI get off their arses and bother to switch . I've read about them supposed to be introducing them, but it'll probably be near the end of the year. I'd say they lost a lot of people to Ulster Bank and Permanent TSB (who do "Visa Debit Cards").
I, personally, can't wait until they finally do :(.

GameStop accept Laser cards (and paypal now) as well.

Laser *IS* a debit card. It's just a very restricted Ireland-only debit card system, although it's usually co-branded with Maestro (Mastercard's most basic debit card).

Maestro cards however, as yet, do not function internationally other than when they're used physically with chip and PIN. You can't use them online outside their country of issue, which is why your Laser/Maestro card won't work on UK or German websites that accept Maestro as only their local Maestro cards work.

As it stands at the moment, Bank of Ireland is supposed to be rolling out Visa Debit, but as yet I haven't heard any date for the launch.

Permanent TSB and Ulster Bank both abandoned Laser in favour of Visa Debit.

I'm not sure what the story with the smaller banks are.

National Irish Bank, AIB and BOI still currently all issue Laser Debit cards only. I'm not sure what the other small banks do e.g. the ex building socs.
