Any animation fans planning a trip to London between now and September 11th should make sure to stop into the Barbican and check out the watch me move animation show. It's a massive gallery show covering all things animated. The show is spread over two floors and is predominantly screening rooms showing animated shorts and sections of animated features going from the very start of animation right up to current day with work from all over the world. There are also workshops and Q&A's happening [last week was jan svankmajer which I'm gutted I missed] There is also a large screening room attached to the show which is showing a series of feature films each day - I went yesterday and watched Coraline, Ghost in the Shell and Perspolis [caught the tale end of Spirited Away] Sundays it's Toy Story 3, Howl's Moving Castle, Animal Farm and Paprika [you can download the full daily list from the website]. There are also related film screenings in the Barbican's cinema - they are showing nearly all of Miyazaki's films during July. It's £10 into the exhibtion if you book online [£12 at the door] which includes all the exhibition films - films in the Barbican cinema are extra I think.
