    The 1st line of specifications reads, 'Displays signal strength (RF level) and pre and post BER together'.
    The ability to determine BER has nothing to do with the type of MPEG coding.

    I would think the 'obsolete' reference is in regard to DVB-T2.

    So those that mean that is is ok for saorview, or should i try and get the newer Horizon HD-TM Plus http://www.horizonhge.com/products_digi_terr_hdtm_plus.html
    I don't really know what the difference between the two are, Sorry for sounding stupid an these things,

    Have a read of the manuals, I had a quick look & the only physical difference I can see is that the newer one has a USB connection for updates.
    Obviously there must be other improvements but I can't see why the older one wouldn't be useful.
    Still not clear on the T2 side though (transmissions starting from NI 2012).
