Wood Graining

Thought this might interest some of you.
Just returned this steering wheel to a UK owner this week. Wood effect steering wheels for the model in question are very expensive , difficult to source and look unconvincing in a matt vinyl wrap.
He asked for it to match the interior of the car although any wood can be replicated . The wheel started off as a good condition but Oh so bland silver finished item fitted to the sports version of the model. The actual " finished " section of the wheel has a hard substrate onto which the original wrap is applied.
The graining process consists of several stages and numerous coats of medium and lacquer required to get the depth of finish that is neccessary to mimic real wood.
    Done several now.
