I have had a break for a few days but I suddenly thought if rte 2 hd(rubbish by the way) moves to MUX 2 then MUX 1 will have spare bandwidth so why not use that to improve pic quality on RT1, TV3, 3E, . For example, RTE 2 HD( a joke) is output via the scart and at present the pic quality is way better than RTE1 etc.

Can we assume RTENL will up the bit rate when RTE 2 hd(hardly hd) moves to MUX2?

WOW I just realised RTE 2 HD will be the only channel on mux 2 so does that mean we will get proper HD ie on a par with SKY HD on some channels. I dont include BBC HD anymore as they admitted most of the viewers cant distinguish good/proper hd so they got new encoders and halved the bit rate.
