iTunes Match is it available to those of us with US iTunes accounts?

It looks like a very cool method of legitimising music which you ripped from Cd's or borrowed from your mates, it can be accessed via the new itunes cloud service anywhere.

The problem will be signing up for it. You can't use an Irish credit card on the US store, and I doubt Apple are going to allow people to sign up to iTunes Match using a gift card.
