    Absolutely.
Fantastic program. Just select the files you want and copy them to your computer. Easy as pie :D

EDIT: MAKE SURE ITUNES DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY OPEN AND YOUR IPOD DOESN'T AUTOMATICALLY SYNC WITH IT!!!

Thought I'd post in this thread as it's a similar thing I'm trying to do.

I don't actually want to put the music onto the computer (there's 60gb on it) I only want to be able to manage the ipod library thru Itunes or a similar program.

The majority of the music came from friends' hard drives but there's a lot of stuff I want to delete and sort out the genres and album titles etc. but when I connect to Itunes and go into the Ipod under music there's nothing displayed...

Ok, but there is music on your Ipod?

The way I did it, was I backed up my ipod to my computer (i know you said you didnt want to but you can delete it later) and then imported the music into itunes(make sure iPod is not connected at this stage).

Then I edited it in iTunes (with iPod not connected) and when I was done I wiped all the music from my ipod and synced in the edited music with album titles, genres etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the reply!

Only problem there is that there is 60gb on the Ipod and only 20gb free on my laptop so I have to try find another way...

But you said that you already have 60GB of music already on your computer which I assume is the same 60GB as on your ipod? If so:

Delete existing music on computer (only if it is the same as iPod music).
    Backup iPod.
    Edit.
    Sync.
    Delete again.
No space used. (or save the newly edited music on your computer as a backup)

EDIT: Oh...when you said "i don't want to put the music on my computer( theres 60GB on it)" Did you mean there is 60 GB on your iPod or on your computer?

Exactly yeah, the music's all on the Ipod, I've only about 2gb of music on the laptop but it's only got an 80gb hard drive so it couldn't take the full bulk of the Ipod library.

I know there's an option to buy an ext hard drive but funds are tight.com and I wouldn't really have any need for one otherwise. I'd rather find a way to manage the Ipod library without having it on the laptop hard drive.

When the Ipod is connected it's listed as the F: drive on the computer so there must be some way of accessing it through there.
