Shocked more than one club is overspending to try reach the PL (you being the other one) Do we ever learn ?. And that Gamble dropping down, class player.

The Blades are being bankrolled and are moving to a new ground.

The big thing is how long is his contract.

So long as their sugar daddy is around for the length of his contract, they'll be all right.

    "being bankrolled"

I laughed. Do people honestly not learn that "bankrolled" basically means slapping on a 3 year expiry date.

Then we have... "moving to a new stadium". How many times has that been the solution. Look how well it worked for bohs, shels, drogs etc.

Ground hog day springs to mind.

How can it be counted as overspending if our budget is to break even!

    Are you breaking even?

Offered 3 players more than we did. fairly sure both our crowds are **** and you dont get more than us

Well our board budgeted for us to be getting 1,000 so we won't break even unless we win the league I'd say.

3 players? Conan Byrne and who else?

    paisley and bermingham.

Not knocking what your doing i think its great as it will end in last day heartbreak and possibly/hopefully the end to Shelbourne.

    Not bitter :D

    We're not going anywhere.;)

I'm fairly sure we were the only people to offer Paisley a contract, at least that's what he says. As for Bermo, you're more than welcome to him once Gormans injury is gone and he can play and once we get the rumoured striker in, in July.

Looks like a nice stadium, pity it will be in Limerick.

Yup, stuck in some regional division.

    Gamble €1400 pw
    Behan €800 pw

    Limericks best crowd - 350

Behan is rubbish. he won't cause much trouble. Honest to God, about the worst player I have ever seen for CCFC.

Gamble on the other hand will etar lumps out of every midfielder in LOI 1.

Changes very little in my mind. Its results against the top 4 will decide who is going up. I still reckon Shels and CCFC are still favourites to finish 1st and 2nd

    Gamble is on that?!

Yet another club taking a big gamble on promotion this year.

The ground has cost Limerick FC nothing so they will be able to afford the changes to renovate it and they will get bigger crowds if they move from their current home.

The Markets Field is already in place and was the former ground of Limerick FC. JP McManus bought the ground outright, so the club did not have to do so. So the money saved by not having to buy the ground can be pumped into renovations for both the ground and the squad.

If Leeds come over to Tolka, it'd be a huge step in that direction. :o

Seems like a bit of a gamble to me...

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

That's crazy wages tbh. Oh and their best crowd was last Friday against Shels 846.

Ye I'm well of that, still it won't be cheap doing the renovations I'd say.

    Good luck to them both.

I am so fcuking sick of people saying 'top, top' players btw.

Redknapp Jr has a lot to answer for.

Thats a bit mad, rumoured 800 pw. Thank god Gamble didnt take that stupid offer we made a few years ago.

Great signings in my opinion... well Gamble more so than Behan. Shows the club has ambition, even at this level. And moving back to our old ground in the Markets Field for next year. Bring on Europe......

Does anybody know if there is an investor on board? Like JPM?

Have to say I wouldn't mind seeing Limerick up in the premier.

He is involved with the charity thing set up, limerick sports development fund or something like that. The place where LFC are moving to, the Markets Field, was bought by him for the club no too long ago. But i dont think hes an active investor, just some generous donations...

Wouldn't mind Shels either just to see Tolka a few more times but Limerick would be a decent trip and also chance to reestablish premier football in a prime Rugby/Gah outpost.

The Sunday Indo reckons Joseph N'do is the highest earner in the LOI with a wage of 38k per annum

    Surely this cannot be right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Thats less that €750 a week. I would presume there are a few still earning over a grand a week.

i'd have thought the same. do they get paid 52 weeks of the year though?

38k for 9 months could be what they meant as the top earner.

Nope its why he didnt turn up for all of pre season training as Sligo were not paying him.
