Unable to record "Fair City" from Saorview EPG

Fot the last few days we've been unable to record "Fair City" from the Saorview EPG? Instead of the program name the EPG states "This program is not available" When the program starts you can record by pressing the record button. Its only on Fair City - all other programs record without difficulty. Using the Humax T2 HDR on RTE 1.
Mrs BowWow not a happy camper!

I think Gerry's on to something.

Noticed this in the past few days. At first, I thought it was just a software bug that others have reported on some Sony Bravia TVs here whereby only full programme info is available for the current and next programs.

Strange approach to dealing with this "problem".

Edit: OP, in the meantime, you can probably set up manual record timers (what's the point of a PVR in this case but this is what we're up against!)

I can understand why it wouldnt be on the +1 if RTE and Equity are indeed in dispute, but that's no reason for the EPG message on the main RTE1 channel.

Whats the EPG say on the Walker "Saorview Approved" boxes for the next Fair City episod on RTE 1?

Several people have reported that "not available" info on the main RTÉ channel EPG with different makes of boxes. In my case i've seen it on Media Centre. There might be some kind of flag to block recordings. I'm guessing someone in RTÉ messed up the EPG info.
Yeah it WOULD be interesting to see how approved boxes handled it.

It is possible to block an event in the epg. I havent seen this myself. Its not a program overlap issue by any chance ? You werent recording something else by any chance at the same time ?

Anyhow you could bypass this issue with a scheduled recording using the timer rather than the epg.

It could be a fall out from the Equity debacle.

We're still having this issue with a number of programes on RTE1 - you set it to record in the EPG, it doesnt happen, but you can record any programe by pressing the record button.
Is it possible that RTE are not sending the "signal" that would tell a box to start recording?

Is this a Saorview approved box ?

Sends like a problem with your box and the event IDs being broadcast.

It is displaying the epg per current time ?

Have you manually changed the time by any chance ?

No, its the Humax T2 HDR.

Ok, but setting recordings on all other stations works ok.

    Yes.

Have you manually changed the time by any chance ?
Yes, did that in order to get "Summer time" on the Humax - see this thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056274062 - no other issues with box, again its only RTE1 and only some programs, all home produced, no issues with films.

    Thanks for your help.

Is there an Accurate Record feature on this box (like on the Foxsat HDR)? Have you got it set or are you using padding to add time to the start or end of the recordings?

If it's like the Foxsat and if the EventId has changed between the time you originally scheduled the recording and the actual EventId in the now/next info on the EPG, then it won't recognise the programme start and won't record the programme. I'd say it's a boo-boo in RTE somewhere and not a fiendish plot by Actor's Equity to prevent you recording Fair City;)

I think you can get around this by adding padding to the recording which will then cause the box to operate on a timer, rather than watching for the EPG programme change. Or it might not operate like the Foxsat at all in which case I'm writing bullsh*t....
