I'd go for the Pug or Citroen because they look a lot nicer than the other ones

OP I'm driving an 04 kubistar 1.5dci 70 bhp with 147,000 miles on the clock.
Never gives less than 50 mpg.
Never have put a spanner on it bar brake pads, a boot joint cover came off and headlight re-alignment.
It really is a lovely little van...easy to run, insure and nice to drive.

Isn't the Kubistar just a rebadged Kangoo ????
which leaves us with the peugueot/citroen as the ones to choose from....even though they are the same

how did you make this out when nissan are jap and renault are french
now peugeot and citreon are both french too and are 100% the same

if you go by this then they are all joined,,,,maybe as selling partners but the nissans are way ahead of the renaults and thats for sure

the french would never be a patch on the japs

Bleh tis all 'value engineering' and planned obsolescense now. No more national pride or trying to build cars that last forever

Ever notice the striking similarity between a Nissan Primastar, Renault Trafic and Opel Vivavaro? If they're all the same you might as well get the nicest looking one

None of them. I'd plump for a transit connect for reliability, toughness and low running costs.

The nissan is not really a nissan, just a rebadged kangoo.

No, Nissan used to be Japanese. Now they are half of a Franco-Japanese mutant. The Kubistar really is just a Kangoo with Nissan badges.

Mind you, lots of people seem to thing the Nissan badges make the Primastar more reliable than the Renault Trafic built alongside it on the same production line, so who knows.

The diesel engine used by peu/cit is probably one of the most used in europe.
Ford use a version of it in their 1.6 tdci focus's.
The engine in the 1.8 and 2.0 tdci fords was also a joint venture with Peugeot/Citroen.
Even toyota used it in their corolla in the early 2000's.
Of the four choices the OP asked about it is really a choice of 2 with peu/cit way ahead of the Renault/Nissan.

The electrics in all the choices can be troublesome, but it seems that Peugeot are a slightly safer bet than Renault in that regard.
Also being vans there isn't as many "toys" to go wrong compared to passenger cars.

Also take note that Renault took a majority stake in Nissan (not the other way around) and since then the technology in Nissans has been pretty much designed by Renault.

if your gowing for a berlingo/partner and want reliabillity get the 1.9non turbo diesel.its fairly slow to be honest but id put it on par with the 1.7 isuzu engine for ''bulletproofness''

Toyota used the old 1.9 non turbo diesel psa engine in the corolla as the old 2.0D engine wasn't emissions compliant and the 2.0 D-4D was just being launched and in short supply.
They're probably the least sought after engine in the Corolla

I'd go for none of them and buy a Connect.

I had a 05 Kubistar for 3 years, gave me no trouble at all,

Get one with no glass in the back doors as there very easily removed!

Cheap Ex AnPost ones in the auctions if you can stand the colour.

I've had every small panal van on the market as work horses and the No.1 would be a VW Caddy. They cost a bit more but worth every red cent.2nd would be an Opel combo, suprising good little van.Have a connect at the moment with the 90ps tdci engine, find it gutless and heavy on juice and eats front tyres.
