HI,
Have been using maximus arcade in my cab more or less since I got it up and running nearly 3 years ago.
I am getting a bit bored with it now and am thinking of trying hyperspin.
Has anyone got a full setup that I can download or get onto discs or something?
I don't mind paying?
Also has anyone got zinc working, I have it in maximus but have never been able to get it working.

Final request, has anyone got screens and covers for the c64 roms?

Emulators I have on my cab

Mame
C64 (vice)
Virtual Pinball
Zinc
Daphne
Nes
Snes
Genesis
PSX

Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Sham.

ps I have some led joysticks that I don't need so could use them as payment for any help provided...

I know some people have problems running the Zinc emulator on Win XP SP3. Disabling DEP on XP seems to work for most of them, as long as the emu is setup properly as well of course.

As you probably know you need to get the emulators working perfectly outside of Hyperspin and then once they work you set them up in the frontend.

Hey what problems are you having? I haven't used ZINC but I've a good bit of experience with hyperspin, I've been using it since the 1st beta.

Cheers for the reply Steve, I had it working outside the frontend but will have to double check.
I think i am having the rom problem, isnt there a weird setup with rom numbers etc to get games working.
Basically , I have a fairly old setup, p3, 512mb ram etc and the 3d games just are too slow.
Someone suggested that Zinc might improve things so I tried it.
I had it working at one point but had to flatten the pc and start again about a year ago so lost my config.
I just thought I would try it again.

Hi Cathal,
I am using maximus at the moment, was thinking of switching to hyperspin but have some reservations.
I hear its a bit of a resource hog which would be great on my dinosaur machine.
Also getting the wheels and screens etc would be a headache.
I remember when I started all this , mamewah did my head in with its complicated config files (well it was complicated to me)
I might just stick to what I have as I suppose it serves my purpose.

Actually, I might try hyperspin on the bartop I am getting from you.

I also though I read a thread where someone had all the hyperpin stuff on an FTP site?

Cheers all for the replies.

Hyperspin themes can be a real resource hog alright, i have mine setup on a dual core with 8gigs or ram, when i had 4gigs in it the menus where crawling on load. It is 100% worth it though when its setup correctly, it looks amazing.

Tis a thing of pure beauty when its set up and running well :D

It's actually the genre.xml files for each system I need, as I have each Genre files, (shooting) (sports) ect but the genre.xml puts them altogether which hyperspin needs, but this file is unavailable except for mame, you guys must have solved this issue so please pass on suggestions.

Not sure, I only use the genres for MAME games so never needed to do any research on it.

Have you registered and asked the question on the main hyperspin forum?

Someone over there will be able to help I'm sure.

If not then just make your own Genre.xml file and drop that in the right system folder.

Here's the complete MAME Genre.xml:
<menu>
<game name="All Games"/>
<game name="Baseball Games"/>
<game name="Basketball Games"/>
<game name="Bios Games"/>
<game name="Bowling Games"/>
<game name="Boxing Games"/>
<game name="Breakout Games" />
<game name="Casino Games" />
<game name="Driving Games"/>
<game name="Electromechanical - PinMAME Games"/>
<game name="Fighter Games"/>
<game name="Flying Games"/>
<game name="Football Games" />
<game name="Golf Games" />
<game name="Gun Games" />
<game name="Hockey Games" />
<game name="Horse Racing Games" />
<game name="Maze Games" />
<game name="Mini-Games Games" />
<game name="Mahjong Games" />
<game name="Misc. Games" />
<game name="Miscellaneous Games" />
<game name="Pinball Games" />
<game name="Platform Games" />
<game name="Pool and Dart Games" />
<game name="Puzzle Games" />
<game name="Quiz Games" />
<game name="Rhythm Games" />
<game name="Shooter Games" />
<game name="Skateboarding Games" />
<game name="Soccer Games" />
<game name="Spinner Games" />
<game name="Sports Games" />
<game name="Tabletop Games" />
<game name="Tennis Games" />
<game name="Track & Field Games" />
<game name="Trackball Games" />
<game name="Wrestling Games" />
</menu>

Not much to it really as you can see.

Just modify it for the genres you have downloaded for each system and you should be good to go.
