Ok well I did the Level 8 BBS course as the Level 7 version is only a newish development. I will give you my opinion on what I experienced.

Personally I loved the course. You study a wide range of subjects from economics to law to marketing. You do not need a backround in these areas as they do start from the start and with basics but I will say having a business subject for the LC is a slight advantage.
I had lectures every day of the week, Mon-Fri for 4 years. You could have a day where you are in from 9-5pm with only an hour off or you may only have 3 lectures. Just depends.

Have to say the Business Dept has some of the best lectures. I was blessed with all of mine and found them excellent and very helpful. I graduated 9 years ago and still meet some of my lectures and they know me.

As with any college course it is hard work. This is not like school and you won't be spoon fed or have lectures chase you up like teachers will. I hope that does not sound condesending but from talking to a friend who works in a uni here she says alot of first years have no idea how navie they are. You have to put the work in yourself, you need to do alot of independent reading of extra books, just giving them back the notes they give you won't be enough. Really what I sam saying if you put the worrk in you should have no problem with the course.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore info.

I'm going into the 2nd year of this course.

The work is tough, but if you attend lectures and study, you'll do grand.

As for the time table, it's easy as pie. Loads of free time, first semester, every Tuesday I'd only have 2 lectures in the evening.

The lecturers are AMAZING. Greatest people on earth. :)

Hey did this course and really enjoyed it, but would recommend you apply for the Higher Cert In Business instead.

In doing it this way so long as you get a 50% average in second year you will get the option of going into 3rd year of most of the business courses in WIT including 3rd year of the Bachelor of Business level 7.

So it will take you just as long to complete if you still want the ordinary degree but also gives you the option of specialising after 2 years.
The current rules are outlined here in the word document "School of businesshttp://www.wit.ie/StudyatWIT/UndergraduateCourses/DirectApplicationsExternal/

Oh and the subjects for level 6,7 and 8 straight business courses are very the same for the first 2 years anyways.

The only disadvantages of doing it this way is not being able to carry failed subjects into 3rd year and needing a 50% average in 2nd year to progress.

I just graduated this September from the level 8 Business Course, I can honestly say it was the best four years of my life, the course was interesting and in the first 2 years you have time to enjoy the college experience...it does however get very intensive in the last year...one word ...'thesis' ughhh!! But honestly i'd give anything to have one more year down there... the sense of community among students is second to none!!

Oh forgot to say if you do the level 7 you get to avoid the thesis if you choose to go on and do level 8 the year after....
