Hi guys! Here's my situation, I currently receive supplementary allowance of 186 pw since Jan as I'm still awaiting my JSA to cone through. Got offerd a two days work there but there probably going to increase it to up to 5/6 days pw. Now iv gone to my Cwo and informed her b4 I started the work , she asked me to get a letter from employer stating how many days I work / per week and amount I'm being paid. Now my questions r these. 1) What hours/ days must I work to still claim supplementary allowance? 2.) will my payments be stopped? And if so what will make it stop 3) wen will I get the small card that I will tick the days I'm working? 4) do they usually get back to the work to find out if you gave refused to work on a certain day? 5) what happens if I don't get the letter to the Cwo on time? .. These are my situations it greatly bothers me at the moment as I hav no other income nd I do not want to loose my weekly payments. Any one wana shed a light?? Thanks all.

As well as letting your cwo know that you have a job you also need to let your sw office know and if it is part time they will change your claim to casual and issue you with dockets that you need to submit every week with days worked and days not worked and you will get a form also for your employer to fill in and submit.

You will have to ask your cwo about the questions you have asked above.

i think if you work more then 19 hrs a week you dont qualify for swa

and for jsa its 3 days or less doesnt matter how much you earn

The limit for SWA is 30 hours, not 19 hours.

For Jobseekers it DOES matter what you earn, as this is assessed off your claim. THe welfare week is 6 days (they don't include Sundays), you have to be unemployed for three of those 6 days to qualify for a payment. The week for Jobseeekers Allowance runs from Wednesday to Tuesday.

So if you work 4 days and one of those is a Sunday, then you will still be eligible for a Jobseekers payment (provided that you aren't earning too much for the means assessment). But if you're working 5 or 6 days, then you will lose your payment. See here for how it works http://www.welfare.ie/EN/OperationalGuidelines/Pages/ja_jobseekall.aspx#rates

If you don't get the information back to the CWO in time then your payment will stop. If you're going to be working more than 30 hours, then its going to stop anyway.

If you have any children, and are working more than 19 hours a week, then check out FIS http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Schemes/BirthChildrenAndFamilies/ChildRelatedPayments/Pages/fis.aspx
