Felt F95 v Specialized Allez 24

Sorry for yet another 'first road bike' thread, but I am trying to decide between the Felt and the specialized. Anyone care to give me some advice? Need a road bike for Gaelforce and the like. Both bikes similarly priced and similar spec, at least to a newbie. I really like the look of the Felt but am concerned from browsing some reviews that the F series Felt is an 'aggressive' set up. Should that worry me or do people think I would get used to it quick enough? Both bikes seem equally comfortable too... Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

The Felt "F" series is not the same as the "Z" series, which is what the pro's would be on...

I'd personally go for the Felt, too many Spec's around...though having said that they are v popular with newbies...which may be another reason to go with the Felt :D

I'm not sure wherre you got that from. AFAIK, the Z series has a more relaxed geometry. This means that the riding position is more upright and less aggressive. Sundy, unless you are particularly lacking in flexability, this isn't something that should put you off. Your body will most likely be able to adapt to which ever bike you get.

The Felt RD is Tiagra which is better than that of the Sora RD on the Trek. The Felt's shifters are Microshift which IMHO is better than that of the Trek's Sora shifters - I don't like their thumb shifting mechanism. You might disagree. The geometry of both of them look quite similar so they should be similarly (un)comfortable to sit upon. I don't know too much about the wheels which come with the Trek (the description is very vague) but I did get to take a look at the F95 with a friend of mine who was interested in getting one. The Alex Rims wheels which were on it looked quite flimsy. If you are heavish then this could be a concern. The frame itself looked gorgeous. However, I would think that it might be unnecessarily heavy. None of the welding was visible as it was covered by the thick paint job giving it a 'carbon look'. Beauty at the expense of performance, perhaps.

    Thanks for your help.

Sounds like it would be fine for a beginner, im only 80kg so hopefully the wheels should suffice.
