I know it sounds like a stupid question, but hear me out. If I do an exercise and I seeat uncontrollably during it does it mean I will be burning more calories and more fat?

For example, I cycle a bit for long distances, sometimes 4 hours at about average 24 km per hour on the bike. Now, when im finished im fit to die, but having said that in the grand scheme of things havent sweated that much. Now compare that to say, 20 minutes doing kettlebells i drip like a leaky tap and do so for ages after even getting out of the shower. So what would be the imoplications of that? Maybe because kettlebell is a higher intensity?

Are you cycling on an exercise bike, indoors like? Or out and about?

If it's outside you're sweating alright, just not as aware of it as it's evaporating quicker. Kettlebell session is obviously much higher intensity too, but you'd probably struggle to do it for 4 hours!

You could replicate that intensity on the bike with hard intervals for 20-30 mins - hill sprints and the like. You'll sweat then. And puke too possibly.

If you're doing 4 hours indoors on a stationary bike fair play to you. But you should be sweating like (insert name) on Countdown.

no id be out and about on the bike. I'd collapse of boredom on a stationary bike.

Im aware I do sweat on the bike dont get me wrong, but when I get home i Dont have the sweat running down my head like a waterfall like i do when i do the shorter high intenity work. and nor would i ever attempt to do kettlebells for 4 hours!! :P

No the amount you sweat is irrelevant.

The bike is long slow cardio, when you stop cycling your heart rate returns to normal pretty quick. Your body returns to a state of rest pretty quick.

The KBells are high intenisty, interval based. When you stop your body continues burning cals at a higher rate for a while afterwards. This is what makes you keep sweat as your body trys to cool.

But, sweat is related to working hard, but its not directly related and can be ignored really. ie more sweat =/= worked harder
